I just finished my PhD two months ago and got two offers, one from top 5 IB as dev and the other from one hedge fund as quant (the total asset managed is about $24billion)For my career path, I don't want to be a developer for the whole life.Could anyone give me some suggestions which offer to choose? Thanks very much

Not that many $24b funds out there -- Bridgewater or Shaw? Decision seems self-evident -- you stated that you don't want to be a developer.

Turn down the IB, do it now. It's very much easier to move from quant to QD than the reverse. As bogracer says, it's hard to see any reason to do otherwise. Some HFs are a bit unstable, but at the > $10^10 level, that's not a realistic fear. Are we missing something here ?
