Waterfront International Hiring Rush

June 18th, 2007, 4:12 pm

Is anybody aware of how Waterfront International in Toronto works?Since I started looking last fall, they have open positions advertised everywhere and ALL THE TIME. Exactly the same wording on every job website. Can't they just get enough, or do they fire faster than they hire? Neither makes sense to me, frankly.Any insider info I can trade on?

Waterfront International Hiring Rush

I don't know about them, but I know something about D.E. Shaw. They also have job advertisements on every website everywhere and at all times. The trick is, they hire less than 1 resume out of 500. They constantly interview, but hire very few. Same with Goldman (I've this from a VP at another bank), they interview all the time even if there is no position open. The idea here is to hire someone very special even if they don't have a job for that person yet. I am sure other banks do it too.
