Need image upload area

July 17th, 2007, 2:18 pm

I have been posting images by uploading them to a third party server.Of course, this means they will likely not be visible after a while as these hosts shut down, go out of business, etc.The simple fix would be a local image upload area at wilmott.comregards,

Alan,we have considered this before but it raises too many issues of abuse, including abuse of copyright. We can always help out on an ad hoc basis. If you have an image and nowhere to put it just let us know.P

Hi Paul,Ok, thanks, just a suggestion -- I'll probably just stick with the third party servers for casual images I create.By the way, in US the DMCA gives a safe harbor protectionagainst this kind of copyright violations, as long as you take down stuff after receiving a complaint. Well, youtubethinks so, anyway Is there a similar act in the UK?

(2) leave the existing image URLs in my message, but add a new image URL labelled FullSizePermanentImage?Normally, I don't care, but this one is nice, and will disappear in a few months from the 3rd party host. Thanks!

Thanks, James.Separate question. Is there someway to enter text in replies (without invoking the equation editor) that *preserves* the spacing? Often I want to type a little table. If you nicely space things for readibilityand hit enter, all your spacing is lost, for exampleHeading 1 with nicely entered numbers Heading 2 ------------------------------------------------- -------------1.234 3.456See the issue? (I typed 3.456 directly under Heading 2), but look at how it displays. p.s. Thinking about this some more -- all that is really needed is a space-preserving blank or tab characteradded to the Message Text toolbar. Is that possible?
