Catastrophic Risk Modelling

Does anyone have any information (web links, useful books, modern research papers) regarding catastrophic risk (measurement, analysis, modelling, calibration thereof)? Especially interested in trends of research and industry.Especially with regards to operational risk and how IBs approach this? What is the job market like (are there lots of jobs, is it a well paid area?)
