Trader positions in Singapore

I want to start as a junior trader in Singapore. I am currently living in the Netherlands. I know that some investment banks have offices in Singapore, does anyone know any other companies who are hiring junior traders in Singapore?

Why Singapore? Is there anything specifically hot about the market there or you would just like to be in Singapore?I know that GS, TD, ML has offices there for sure. NOt sure how active they are over there with their trading (compared to their North American Offices).

All of the major banks have trading desks in Singapore, and most of the smaller ones also do. Overall there are a lot more trading desks in Hong Kong compared to Singapore.

my two options are Hong Kong and Singapore. I think that more people can speak English in Singapore than in Hong Kong. This will make making contact with the locals more easier I think. Is it better to apply to the Asian offices of the banks directly or through their London offices?

What are the visa concerns re: working in HK and Singapore? Getting a visa to work in the UK is tough enough.

Probably best to apply to both the asian offices and via London - different businesses within banks have different structures and there's no harm in trying both avenues. Visa issues are non existent as both HK and SG have existing large ex-pat populations and growing economies, and the visa processes are both straightforward and efficient.

The reputation these days is that SG's strength is in wealth management, while HK is in the markets.

If you get the offer from a big firm, either HK visa or Singapore visa will never be a hurdle...
