Free replacement for Eviews

Guys,I need to use Eviews for some VAR/VEC analysis but the only way I have to access it is in the instituion I study.Is there a good free replacement? Is there any R or Octave toolbox that could help me?Regards,

I gather the reson you are not satisfied with R is you want to do statistical analysis from a GUI, not a command line.Try one of the graphic intefaces for R. In particular, R Commander and SciViews-R are pretty good.

I just checked Econometrics Task View of R and this gRETL.Probably they have what I need.Regards,
