question about Salih Neftci

Mr. Neftci was to give a lecture at my school very soon. I've been told that he is in hospital. I realise that this is not the best place to verify this, but I'm a student and am not sure how to find out about this. If he is, I send him my best wishes.

well, it's in the US, in the midwest. I'm trying to disguise my identity. kind of afraid and untrusting of my program's administration, hence the question about Neftci's status.

I hope he is well. He is certainly a giant. People have said he's a nice guy also.

I have some good news. According to my sources in the Turkish-American economics/finance academic "mafia", Prof. Neftci had some relatively minor surgery and he is doing fine.In future, use great discrimination and judgment in posting such items on Wilmott, to avoid unnecessarily alarming large numbers of people based on limited information. Not in Geneva but in Aubonne between geneva and Lausanne. Yes this is sad. he was charming.
