The birth certificate shows he is native-born, in Hawaii. In fact, CNN sent some reporters to the hospital where Barack Obama was born to verify his birth records. There was some debate in 2000 as to whether John McCain, having been born in the Panama Canal Zone, is eligible.Although the Panama Canal Zone has never been a state of the US, it was a US territory, much the same as Guam, Wake Island and Puerto Rico. Question for ppauper: What if Obama is Muslim, which he is not ?
