entry level quant in HF

December 8th, 2009, 9:24 am

I recently got an offer from a new hedge fund as a statistical arbitrage Quant. (I am entry level to finance with Eng Ph.D background). The fund has about 10 people working there and managed about $500M. I wonder is this a typical size of small or medium HF in UK, and how is the stability and prospect of the working in this kind of HF. Thanks in advance

That's a fine size. Unless you have a competing offer, don't worry about the size of the fund. Go in with your feet running. Best of luck for your future career.

That's not a bad first job to get.The stability is not great, but at the moment there is not a lot of stability anywhere
