Dear All,All advice is welcomed. I'm in the final year of my Physics and maths degree and planning to apply for a masters in finance next year. What is the best course out of the following? I have chosen these courses due to cost and location (half swiss!)... I should also mention that I'm hoping for a career as a quantETH Zurich, Masters in FinanceHEC Lausanne, Masters in Banking and FinanceEdinburgh, Financial Mathematics. Thanks for your input. Also any other suggestion will be welcomed

HEC's MBF program is definitely very based and there is a very good focus on financial mathematics and derivatives.. i would personally go for that.

not the senior comment you were dreaming of, but my 2 cents:MAS Zurich: new program with a top-notch maths department, teachers who push the frontiers for topics like extreme event modelling in risk management.MBF Lausanne: established program with an international economics faculty, some excellent teachers, probably more job-oriented training. I've met an ex-student who went into energy trading.Depends what you are looking for: I'd decide on the basis of your math affinity/ability and researcher vs practitioner job aspirations. As for the quant placement record of both programs, I guess that's only after a PhD, for which both progs can serve as an entry ticket...

No, I stated that a master's would be an "entry ticket" for the PhD. After either of the programs one could go on and do a PhD, eg the FAME doctoral program in Switzerland, for which the admission info mentions e.g. the MBF as a prerequisite...

Hi alicia,I did the MAS given by the ETH.I had an applied math background and this program deepened theoretical and applied aspects. If you are good, it can oppen you many doors afterwards (good professors, good connections )I would recommend it if your goal is more to get into quantitative finance.cheers
