Quants is a general term I know, but what kind of hours can a quant expect to work? Also is it generally 5 days a week like traders or do they work weekends too? Thanks.

From the Mark Joshi websiteQuoteHow hard does a quant work? This varies a lot. At RBS we got in between 8.30 and 9 and went home around 6pm. The pressure varied. Some of the American banks expect much longer hours. Wall St tendsto be more demanding than the City. In London 5 to 6 weeks holidaysis standard. In the US 2 to 3 is standard.

It is too much, a lot of researcher actually don't have time to take all their holidays.Classically in a private firm here it is 5 weeks.
