UBS IB Bonus %

August 23rd, 2011, 1:04 pm

Hi,I did do a search but could not find anything recent.I'm talking to UBS IB about a quant analyst role, senior associate director level. Base plus benefits would mean that I need to take a step back. However, the guy was strongly hinting about the bonus being substantial, but unable to give me any percentages because he wasn't allowed to. (I don't work for an IB currently and get no bonus at all)According to http://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/UBS-Ass ... 2.htmcould be in the 10% to 60% range, which is quite a wide. Do those numbers make sense? Thanks!PS: Whatever happened to the salary survey?

Is it FO? 0.1 to 0.6 would seem quite low.And yes, @Dominic, any news on the salary survey?

i heard that UBS are using high base low bonus model now. so numbers could be close to reality. ...also, they just announced plans for significant job cuts...

> Is it FO? 0.1 to 0.6 would seem quite low.Good question, I dissected the job spec and it is not 100% clear. This IB stuff is new to me, thanks for responding.> ...also, they just announced plans for significant job cuts...Yes, this is a worry, new employees are low hanging fruit for reorganisations. But not a reason not to talk to them. I intend to mention this and see how they deal with it.

All the FO positions I interviewed for (being trashed, of course) had written in giant caps* FRONT OFFICE QUANT WORKING ON PRICING AND SITTING ON THE TRADING FLOOR *the confusing ones always turned out to be MO/BO/crap
