QuoteOriginally posted by: HansiDidn't buy one but have tried it out and must say that the iPad 3 does offer a much better reading experience because of the increased resolution when using res independant sources (non-bitmap pdfs etc). Also tried the Nexus 7 to get a feel for how a 7 inch screen worked for reading and it's a bit too small for PDF IMO.Thanks, that is useful to know. I have iPad2 which I believe does a terrific job as a reader and general file organiser, but of course nothing beats paper. I like having my book collection (+ myriad of scans of my various handwritten notes) in one single device that I can access anywhere, so I was considering that maybe I should save up and eventually get an iPad3 or even get an e-ink based device. I am so far deterred from getting an iPad3 due to mainly cost, and I am deterred from e-ink readers due to - my notes are clearly not res-independent / OCR. I wonder whether e-ink readers would even know what to do with them (even though I keep my scans as PDFs) - I have res-independent / OCR files, but they have equations / pictures / graphs, and I have doubts on how e-ink would handle this.Knowing myself, I will probably stick with iPad2 until iPad4 comes out
