why has wilmott degenerated and how can we fix it?
It seems to me that this forum is passing the end of its useful life.The signal to noise ratio gets worse each week with posters more interested in insulting each other anddenigrating mathematics than understanding it. For example, a post by N saying that "levy processes in Finance" by Schouten is all wrong with noevidence or discussion.

I think LongTheta is right. But there are serious subjects in OT, and they should be left alone as well.For repeated offending isn't banning possible? Out of the many people on this site there are only four or five who are spoiling it.

Can't see how you could enforce banning. A bad person could simply create a new login.

Meanwhile, is there anyway that one can filter out all posts by a certain person in a certain thread? With e-mail, one can block out all e-mail from certain senders. It would be great if one could do the same on the forum.
