I've always suspected that explorations like Heidegger's are the literary analog to the Mandlebrot set:If one takes some simple atoms and recursively apply them to themselves (e.g., what is the meaning of meaning), then the result can seem extremely complex. Yet that complexity is induced by the recursion more so than being intrinsic to the system.
