Moving on / Job switching from trading career

January 3rd, 2015, 10:23 am

How often do you need to make a switch during your trading career? I have been a junior "foot soldier" trading physical commodities for 3 years and feel like I am not learning anything anymore. Obviously anyone of you are in your job for three years then you will probably get bored as well. My concern is that previously I came from back office and normally in back office we change jobs every 1.5 to 3 years. So my question is that how long do I need to stay in my trading role in order not to look bad on my CV? I do realise that some of my senior trader colleagues stay in their job for 5 to 10 years so I am not sure if moving every 3 years is a good thing.
