I'm currently working as a junior trader / analyst in one of the top BB investment banks in London and would like to move to Asia and work on the buy-side. Getting track record to set up a HF

Hi All,Does anyone know how to get a certified track record to start a hf? It's a bit of a "egg or chicken" situation. If you don't have a TR then you can't get investors and if you don't have investors it's hard to get a TR.Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.Groti

Does Anyone Here Daytrade For a Living?

<t>I'm sure there are ways to make money in the market (otherwise I wouldn't trade, would I?), but the below statement rather sounds like Barings announcing that they have come to the conclusion that it is not terribly difficult to make money trading derivatives - as they say......if it looks too go...

MSc MTF!!! then WHAT???

<t>Hi,I'm a student at Cass but (unfortunately) not in the MTF course. I believe that's probably the best MSc Cass has on offer. In my opinion the faculty is excellent (e.g. Dawson, Batchelor, Staunton) and the job prospects should be quite good as well.I don't know anything about work permits.Good ...

<t>thx a lot for the reply linuxuser and DCFChaha - I really like the Beanie reading room stuff........@ DCFC: I agree that it sounds a bit like a strange i-net uni - that was one of my main concerns. Also, I'm from Germany and I'm not sure whether anyone would recognise it over there (in case I go ...

MSc financial math at KING's or MSc math and finance at IMPERIAL

I also think the MSc Mathematical Trading and Finance Course at Cass is worth having a look at. The lecturers / profs teaching that course are absolute top. Also, I think the employment prospects are fairly good due to its practical approach.

BSc Finance / Risk Management - enough maths to work in quant?

<t>Hi all, I was just wondering whether in your opinion it is possible to start working as a junior in a quant team with a finance background. I will start in the (rotational) analyst programme of one of the big IB this summer and am trying to find out what my chances are to get into a quant team. I...

thx a lot - found some very interesting programmes. Also, I was wondering how a BSc from the open university is valued by practitioners / academics. The programme at OU seems to be very flexible and would therefore be quite attractive for me - but what about its academic standard?
