How long to wait for the next application

I got an onsite interview from my dream group in a top IB at the beginning of this year. It was very close to an offer, but did not go. How long should I wait before I send resume to this group again? 6 months? 1 year? 5 years? I really want to try again.

I heard a lot of sell side quants want to move to buy side after a couple of years. What is their motivation? PPl prefer working in a smaller HF/Trading firms to a BB?

I don't understand the difference between this two titles. I noticed in IB ppl are called quant, while in trading firms they are called financial engineer. So, what is the difference?

Got an offer recently from a BB. The role is a QD. It should be in front office, and needs to communicate with traders a lot. One thing I don't like is this role belongs to IT department. Will the bonus be IT level or front office level?

I am recently reading some research papers about CDS pricing. All these papers treat the recovery rate, R, as a constant, which surprised me a lot.In my opinion, we cannot predict the recovery rate when we sign the contract. So how could the recovery rate be a constant?
