Quite simply... no, you don't need a PhD. It helps if you're exceptional in some way, awards, prizes, but a PhD is just one of the ways you can distinguish yourself.

They can be quick in my experience. I spoke to them for a role as interest rate derivatives structurer, just the phone interview, and they came back within a day. I didn't go further though, it wasn't really what I was looking for. Good luck with it Sam
