Sure, it would be entry level but not for a guy just out of school. The target would be Quantitative trading/portfolio management, would you mind sharing contacts ?Thanks.

News paper/Media interviews on your CV

That is totally right. I found even more interesting how the journalist explained to one of my former bosses why he wanted to talk to me and not him. However, it would be my (potentially) next boss to read my CV: would he be worried ?

Ok, thank you both. I just want to make sure there is no major downside with this that I'm missing.

News paper/Media interviews on your CV

<t>Suppose you are in academia and your research has had quite a lot of attention from a wider audience: you got interviewed by (very well respected) news papers, radios, etc. After a while you start looking for a job outside academia: would you mention your "media appearance/interviews" on your CV ...

New particle at Fermilab?

<t>Totally agree with traden4 alpha.I do not think it was a rush. Instead, this is the natural way of doing research: you have something you do not quite understand; you work on it for a while andstill, you do not understand... Go public and discuss with the community !Now the very top priority is t...

The Boost C++ Libraries I, II

<t>Thanks Cuchulainn. Well, I agree, it must be an 'experience'... based on the 'pilot run' are you still planning the kindle format ?I also knew epub is not supported by kindle and this is not good at all. pdf is supported and reads quite well if the original file has no fancy formatting.I have no ...

how much do PhD staff physicists & scientists make?

<t>An entry level position (Associate Scientist) should be around USD 60-50K + some benefits (depending on the lab). I can imagine that working on classified stuff or topics that potentially have commercial/industrial applications may increase your salary. However, it is not that clear to me that we...

Also CUDA for MAC is OK, no problem to port the code to other platforms where I have the graphic cards.I do also have parallels to run Windows in virtual machine and it works quite well, bu...
