show them where they did sub-optimal hedging, how much it cost them, and what they should have done. try to stay away from getting too much into the details, atleast initially. otherwise you will lose your audience quickly. my 2c.

i think finding a way to present your analysis and findings to people who are completely illiterate in mathematics will be your toughest challenge. probably just a lot of regression work is my guess.

Wait for the great job. If it doesnt work out there will be another "good" one behind it. Hiring has picked up a lot in your sector and there will be a lot of good opportunities this year and next.

just go trade for a prop shop. there are lots of them in just about every major financial center. a big bank is not going to hire you to take on a book so that is your best bet.
